Emperor Cinemas to be launched at Shin Kong Place in Chongqing and Chengdu

Emperor Cinemas are state-of-the-art cinemas that provide audiences with an unparalleled and luxurious visual, audio and sensory experience, well-matched with Shin Kong Place’s reputation as the leading department store brand. Emperor Cinemas opened its first solely-owned cinema at Hefei MixC in 2015. In addition to Shin Kong Place Chongqing and Shin Kong Place Chengdu, Emperor Cinemas will also be opening in Beijing at the Emperor Group Centre in 2017, and as previously announced, in Hong Kong at the Entertainment Building in Central. Emperor Cinemas is poised for rapid expansion across China in coming years.
Shin Kong Place Chongqing is situated at the CBD of Yubei District, surrounded by numerous government and business offices as well as high-end residential buildings. Shin Kong Place Chongqing will combine art, fashion, entertainment and global cuisine, with the aim to become Chongqing’s top destination department store. Emperor Cinemas will be located at 5/F to 7/F of the department store, occupying approximately 12,000 square meters, with 18 screens and more than 2,200 seats. Various specialty houses include a large-screen house, as well as immersive motion seating, promising a top quality cinematic experience for movie-goers in Chongqing.
Shin Kong Place Chengdu is situated at the Wenjiang District of Chengdu. Wenjiang is poised to become the new western urban core of Chengdu, and the department store is located at Wenjiang’s CBD, the heart of government, economic, cultural and public service activities. Shin Kong Place Chengdu aims to become the new landmark of the Wenjiang District, setting new standards for architecture, landscaping, retail shops, cultural events and customer service. Emperor Cinemas will be located at the 7/F of the department store, occupying approximately 5,500 square meters, with 10 screens and more than 1,600 seats. The cinema will be equipped with the IMAX digital theatre system and immersive motion seating.
